Merry Christmas!

I know it's a week early for Christmas. In fact it's my birthday. The fun thing as a kid with a December birthday was that I hit the trifecta:
Week 1 = My Birthday = Presents and cake!
Week 2 = Christmas = Presents and turkey and pumpkin pie!
Week 3 = New Years Day = More food plus time off from school to play with my presents!

I love Christmas. I like to hear Christmas music in the stores when I'm shopping. I even like Christmas music in July!

One thing I've done for the last X-number of years is create and snail mail my own Christmas cards to family and friends. Here is this year's card to all of you. It features 4 of our cats past and present.  From back to front; Trixie, Jackson, Tiger and Ninscoo. We now have kitty #5, Jagger but this was completed before we adopted him. Next year!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Wile E. Coyote

When I was working at Sun Sportswear (RIP), the largest T-shirt company on the west of the Mississippi at the time, I did a lot of licensed art. I designed scads of Looney Tunes, Garfield and other character designs.

This Wile E. Coyote design I did was on my old website. Since I first posted it I found that this has been re-used on several other websites.

Did I get credit on these sites?
Pfft!!

Mark Shapiro from Laika

Mark Shapiro from Laika in Oregon came to Big Fish today and talk about their studio. He showed us some clips and behind the scenes videos from the making of "Coralin", "Paranomarn" and "The BoxTrolls".

He even passed around a few things for us to pick up and look at up close including a puppet armature and some face parts from their films.

The face on the left is Norman and the right appears to be baby Eggs from Box Trolls. I placed these on my notebook for scale (upsell!).

I REALLY want to visit their studio. The work and talents that go into their movies is unparalleled.
